Each year, PAGE (Professional Association of Georgia Educators) recognizes the student in each Barrow County high school who has the top SAT score in the school.  Each of those students in turn chooses his or her most influential teacher, and the duo is recognized as the PAGE STAR Student and Teacher for the year.

Bethlehem Christian Academy’s top SAT scholar this year is Ms. Christian Snyder.  A member of the school’s championship debate team for several years, Christian is also an avid figure skater as well as the co-creator of the first ever Autism Awareness event at BCA.  Christian is a Zell Miller scholarship recipient with plans to study at UNG and then Georgia Tech to pursue web development or cybersecurity.

Christian’s choice for STAR teacher was Mrs. Jen Davis.

With a background in process engineering as a multi-million dollar project lead and lead manager, Davis switched careers to education, adding her teacher certification to a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Penn State University. Mrs. Davis serves as the BCA STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) Department Chair, leading the school in this constantly advancing field.

Davis spearheaded the creation of a new computer science foreign language pathway at BCA, inspired by students like Christian, and recently co-created and led a summer STEM camp for elementary students. Davis was voted 2018 Teacher of the Year by her peers.
