BCA Dress Code
- There has been significant research that says there is an increase in learning when students are in uniform.
- The classroom teacher will primarily monitor the dress code. If the teacher recognizes a dress code infraction, the teacher will point it out to the child privately. A dress code notice will be sent home defining the situation. On the 2nd infraction, the parent will be contacted to bring in the appropriate uniform piece. The middle school students will receive detention.
- Sweatshirts and jackets that are worn to school must be BCA approved uniform logoed items.
- Repeated infractions will be referred to the Administrator.
- One’s personal appearance is an important part of a Christian testimony. The appearance of our students to a large degree determines the image of our school.
- We expect students enrolled here to cooperate with us in maintaining a good testimony in this area.
- Approved BCA Spirit Wear may be worn on Friday as “uniform” in grades K – 5; Spirit Wear may be worn in Grades 6 – 9 only on special designated days.
The way students dress strongly influences their behavior, self-image and the effort they exert in school. It is our desire to encourage students in developing an attitude about their appearance, which will show a high degree of self-respect and self-worth while conforming to Biblical principles. As administration and faculty, our desire is to be an extension of the home, and thus help your child develop a habit of modest dress. The administration will be the final authority on any questions regarding the dress code.
