  • Activity Bus Driver

    Bethlehem Christian Academy is accepting applications for a part-time Activity Bus Driver. Under general supervision, duties include but are not limited to: driving academy field trips, athletic events, and possibly a pickup or drop off route. Applicants must have a valid Georgia CDL license with P or S endorsements.

  • After School Childcare Program Worker

    Childcare workers will be supervising and assisting in after school activities in specific age groups pre-school through 8th grade. The hours are Monday-Friday 2:45 - 6:00 p.m. Duties include, online attendance, homework check, playground supervision, and overseeing indoor games and activities.   • Bible Teacher

    Bethlehem Christian Academy is accepting applications for a Bible Teacher.
    Goal:
    To prayerfully disciple students to learn and grow in their faith, attitudes, skills, and that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.
    Overview:
    Shall be born-again who feels called of God to teach and minister to students. Other qualities may be added as deemed appropriate. The teacher will work closely with students to prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians who will make a transforming influence in their world to the praise and the glory of God. The teacher should be able and willing to share and introduce students to a life of faith with Jesus Christ. Curriculum may include foundations of Christian faith, biblical worldview, survey of Old Testament, and/or survey of New Testament. The qualified individual must be an evangelical Christian committed to living a Biblical lifestyle. He/she is expected to demonstrate patience, humility, integrity, and kindness while performing his or her day to day duties. He/She must be devoted to prayerfully work with administration, faculty, students and parents. 
     Evaluation:
    Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of BCA’s policy on evaluation of personnel and this job description. Details are found in the Policies/Procedures Manual. 
    Personal Qualities 
    • Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior. 
    • Believe that the Bible is truth, God’s Holy Inspired Word and standard for faith and daily living. 
    • Be in whole-hearted agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education. 
    • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. 
    • Be a member in good standing at a local evangelical church that has a Statement of Faith in an agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith. 
    Curriculum and Instruction
    • Teaches classes as assigned following the prescribed scope and sequence. 
    • Remains current in teaching methodology and course content information. 
    • Integrates biblical principals and the Christian Philosophy of Education throughout the curriculum and activities. 
    • Keeps proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises for a good learning environment. 
    • Maintains a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom. 
    • Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individuals needs, interests, and abilities to the students, challenging each to do his/her best work. 
    • Utilizes valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum within the framework of the school’s philosophy. 
    • Employs a variety of instructional aids (including technology), methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child; spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional. 
    • Plans through approved channels, the balanced use of field trips, guest speakers, and other media. 
    • Effectively assesses the learning of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. 
    • Is prepared for classroom instruction both daily and long term. 
    • Effectively manages the classroom and other learning environments. 
    • Maintains regular and accurate attendance. 
    • Grades and enters the grades for student work within the time frame set by school policy. 
    • Maintains current lesson information in the school computer system. 
    • Maintains up to date course map and plan information to the school computer system. 
    • Aligns units and lessons to appropriate standards adopted by the school. 
    • Individualizes instruction as necessary or required to meet exceptional student needs. 
    Behavior Management 
    • Develops, in accordance with the school guidelines, reasonable rules of classroom behavior and appropriate techniques that are consistently applied. 
    • Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. 
    • Shares responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in all areas of the school. 
    • Provides for the supervision of assigned students when circumstances require a brief absence from the assignment. 
    Public/School Relations 
    • Upholds and enforces board policy, administrative procedures, school rules and regulations, and is supportive of them to the public. 
    • Maintains appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of conference and planning time. 
    • Strives to communicate the positive aspects of our school program to the public in word and deed. 
    • Works cooperatively with parents to strengthen the educational program for their children. 
    • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with staff members. 
    • Communicate any special parental concerns or requests to the administration. 
    • Work as a team player, assisting other staff for the good of all students and the school. 
    • Follow the policy of Matthew 18 in regard to disagreements among fellow staff and report to the administration any disagreements to school policy without discussion/gossip with other staff. 
    • Must display or communicate support for the school and administration to staff, parents and the community. 
    Professional Growth 
    • Maintain an ACSI certificate after first year at BCA. 
    • Continues professional growth through attendance at workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning. 
    • Attends staff meetings, in-services, professional development, committee meetings and special events as required. 
    • All other duties assigned. 
    Essential Expectations
    • Plan prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials in a manner that facilities active learning, effectively utilizing the basic elements of instruction; including but not limited to presentation of content, questioning techniques, responding to learner input and arrangement of learning activities. 
    • Regularly review/update department and course curriculum guide/maps to assure the fulfillment of proper instructional       priorities  and pacing. 
    • Demonstrate the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to inspire, student learning, including the understanding of the knowledge and characteristics of the age group taught. 
    • Effectively manage classroom and discipline procedures to provide a positive classroom environment conducive to learning, including modeling effective teacher/parental partnering through timely communication with parents in support of student learning (e.g., posting of assignments, grades, conferencing). 
    • Prepare appropriate weekly lesson plans including instructional objectives, planned activities, Bible integration, assessments, and resources, incorporating classroom technology to enhance instruction. 
    • Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demands for a comprehensive knowledge

  • Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach

    Bethlehem Christian Academy is currently accepting applications for a Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach
    Job Description:
    • Responsible for all aspects of the girl’s high school basketball program.
    • Must be available to work with middle school and elementary feeder programs.
    • Assist in maintaining high academic standards for all student athletes.
    • Assist athletic director in the hiring and/or retention of assistant coaches by recommending prospective coaches when needed.
    • To work cooperatively with other head athletic coaches in order to operate a well-balanced athletic program.
    • To foster among the athletes, parents, and spectators an appreciation of the values of athletics, a desire to win, an attitude of good sportsmanship, and a sense of pride in self, team, and school.
    • To work directly with the strength and conditioning coach to help with the training, conditioning, and performance of the girls basketball teams. 
    • To lead, supervise, and assist the assistant coaches in their efforts with teams assigned to them.
    • To be present and personally direct the team at all varsity contests and to be present at as many junior varsity games as possible. He/she will also be responsible for the supervision of his/her athletes at all basketball functions.
    • To recommend to the athletic director the type and amount of equipment and supplies needed to conduct the basketball program successfully. 
    • To provide for the inventory and care of equipment.
    • To perform other duties related to the position of head athletic coach as requested by the athletic director.
    • Must be a believer of Christ and comfortable signing a statement of faith. 
    Qualifications include but are not limited to:
    • Willingness and ability to develop a strong basketball Program
    • High school varsity basketball head coaching experience preferred
    • Must possess strong organization and communication skills
    • Demonstrated successful basketball coaching and playing experience
    • Strong capacity to build and maintain relationships
    • Must have a strong work ethic and ability to lead and motivate others.
    Bethlehem Christian Academy is a PreK2-12 Christian school located in Bethlehem, Georgia committed to creating a desire to know and serve God in the hearts of our students.  We do this by equipping them academically, physically, spiritually, and socially to fulfill God’s purpose in their lives. The position of head varsity girls basketball coach is for the 2022-2023 season with the possibility of an extended contract.
