Like most anything great, Bethlehem Christian Academy was started out of love. God chose as its leaders a businessman whose father had given him the gift of a Christian education, a young mother with a dream, and a church who was willing to accept the fingerprints of children and families, as they became part of the school family.
Confirmation that BCA was God’s plan was evident from the very beginning. A board was appointed from members of Bethlehem Church and Rhonda Whiting, the young mother with the dream, was named the Head of School. On May 15, 2000, the board met for the first time and prayed for 40 students for the preschool.
On September 4th of the same year, Bethlehem First Baptist Preschool opened its doors with 68 students and 7 staff members. The next year, the board continued to follow in their faithfulness to God’s calling and added a half-day kindergarten class.
