At Bethlehem Christian Academy, childhood is embraced, curiosity is valued, children are cherished, and learning is an adventure. Each child is recognized as one of God’s unique creations. Our preschool starts with children ages three and up. At our school, children gain a sense of comfort and belonging because they are nurtured and loved by a caring staff.
We believe children learn best in environments which are nurturing, engaging, and creative. It is our goal to give each child the opportunity to develop into a joyful, confident learner. Explorations in language and literacy, Biblical studies, Christian values, social relationships, science, discovery, and math are embedded into our daily curriculum. Learning becomes an adventure as the children learn through songs, stories, drawing, writing, and play.
As children make their way through our program, they are slowly transitioning from the beginning stages of development to being socially, emotionally, and academically prepared for kindergarten. We work diligently to equip our students with the skills they need for success today and for the rigors that will face them tomorrow. Integrated Biblical teachings and Christian values spiritually prepare our students and encourage them to seek His presence in all things.
BCA preschool curriculum is carefully designed around a scope and sequence of early literacy and developmental skills. Objectives in the areas of emergent writing, phonological awareness, oral language, letter knowledge, early word recognition, comprehension, cognitive development, and developing motor skills are all part of a curriculum that is fun, engaging, and often mimics play.
Bethlehem Christian Academy seeks to ensure the best people work with our youngest students in BCA preschool. We require each teacher be a professing Christian and have a genuine love and concern for young children. Our teachers receive ongoing professional development and training on best practices and methods to nurture the development in children and encourage a lifelong love of learning. Our preschool teachers are certified in CPR/First Aid.
Bethlehem Christian Academy Preschool is accredited by the Association of Christian School International (ACSI).
With this accreditation, BCA operates under religious exemption from the state, and is not required to comply with Bright From the Start Rules for Childcare Learning Centers. BCA is committed to ongoing self-monitoring of our preschool program and committed to continued education for our staff, high standard operations for our facility, and education of our preschool age students.
