2021-2022 STAR Student and Teacher

STAR Student Ansley Carroll selects Mrs. Guck as her STAR Teacher
Bethlehem Christian Academy is pleased to announce Ansley Carroll as its STAR Student for the 2021-22 school year. Ansley was honored on Wednesday, February 23 at the Barrow County Chamber of Commerce luncheon, along with STAR Students from other Barrow County high schools.
Ansley was introduced at the Chamber luncheon by BCA Upper School Principal, Cricket Butler. In addition to naming her activities and achievements, Ms. Butler described Ansley’s time at BCA as a “legacy of building academic distinction” on campus, and she complimented her “ability to balance high rigor with outside commitments.”
Transferring to BCA during her 10th grade year, Ansley wasted no time getting involved on campus and becoming a leader in various ways. In addition to earning a 4.0 GPA and a 102 cumulative GPA, she is a member of the varsity tennis team and the social leader of Lighthouse, an organization for BCA female high school students who have a desire to grow spiritually, serve their community and provide mentorship to younger students.
Off campus, Ansley rides horses competitively and is a Team Leader at Chick-Fil-A. Upon graduation from BCA, Ansley plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall.
Ansley selected Emily Guck as her STAR Teacher. Ms. Guck, who teaches Chemistry and Forensic Science at BCA, was also recognized at the February Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Ansley says she chose Ms. Guck “because she made learning fun and I enjoyed coming to her class every day! Mrs. Guck is also a teacher who really cares about her students inside and outside the classroom.”
Ms. Guck, who said she was honored to be selected as this year’s BCA STAR Teacher, describes Ansley as “very deserving of being recognized as Bethlehem Christian Academy's STAR Student. She is an extremely bright and gifted young lady that will be successful in her future endeavors because she possesses the willingness and determination necessary to do so.”
