Dear Elementary Parents,

What a wonderful year we have had in the Media   Center! I have enjoyed getting to know your children and encourage their love for books. Throughout the summer, we want that love of reading to grow with you and your child.

Summer is a time of rest, of increased and intentional family time and of imagination taking flight. We want our students to keep reading over the summer and make it an everyday event, from travel and wildlife books about the vacation spot you are visiting, classics that you read as a child, the book before watching the movie, USA history, books about countries from missionaries that you know or pray for, audio books for the long road trip and so much more. We all know that learning does not just take place in the classroom, and it becomes more real if your entire family gets involved.

Attached you will find a packet with more details about our summer reading program, including a description of reward incentives, a book list by grade level, and a reading log which is due by Wednesday, August 17th. I also included some National Days to have fun with like we do each week in school.

Thank you for reading with your child and making memories. I cannot wait to find out where your books have taken you! Have a wonderful summer!
